Facilitated Discussion

Workplace issues demand that we resolve them quickly and efficiently to preserve important relationships with colleagues and supervisors and to ensure that productivity is minimally affected.

Not everyone is comfortable with having "difficult conversations" and the power balance in the room is not always neutral. Hiring a facilitator to help parties resolve their issues has proven to be expedient and productive. Facilitation brings parties together, face to face, in a non-threatening and safe environment.

Once the facilitator has met with each party individually, the parties come together, with the help of the facilitator, to discuss issues that are preventing them from moving forward. The informal nature of the process encourages parties to disclose, more openly, the nature of the real obstacles and enables the facilitator to work with the parties to reach a mutual understanding.

Unlike mediation, there is no formal agreement, and unless requested, no written minutes or contract arising from the process.

Facilitated discussion is a proven method of resolving issues quickly, informally and successfully - most times with sustainable and long term success.
